WHAT WOMEN WANT

Yes, on most rides the guys still outnumber the women by a fair margin (not to worry, it's something we're working on) but when they do show up they often quietly show the boys how it's done. From Karla who's riding JF's ex-bike perhaps better than JF ever did to Catherine who's climbing ability and exponential improvement continues to amaze to Jenn who, as co-founder of 'team patio', never ever surrenders.

From Skis to Bikes to Snowboards to helmets, from shoes to bike seats even: Unfortunately, more often than not, WOMEN SPECIFIC is just a marketing thing that some nice companies tack on to pastel-colored flower-covered product in order to sell more of it to unsuspecting women. Sometimes the gender non-specific bike works better, the men's shoe that feels great is always better that the girl's model that aches. Our advisory committee of women who use the products we sell is a key element of how we do things here at Gord's. From our Female staff comprised of Kari, Ruth, Leanne, Christine, Erin, Krista and Jana to our advisory committee of Carmen, Catherine, Janet, Michelle, Jenn, Lauri, Bev and many more. Us girls make sure the guys don't just gobble up what the corporate marketing people feed them about female trends. We keep the boys honest and our women's product selection testosterone free. We decide what we buy, we sift through the gear, we test it, aprove it, write the purchase orders and inform the staff on how it worked for us. We wouldn't have it any other way. Our Girl's rock!

If you're interested in learning about what REALLY works, drop on by, talk to one of our girls (you can even talk to one of the boys, they've all been well trained) and answer some of the questions they'll throw your way, our way of getting to know you. Maybe we can help you have a bit of a better time out there.

Don't be alarmed if we invite you to join our rides (you should so join us!), to come out and play with us. We're very proud of the fact that, no matter how stupid the boys act, the girls on our rides always put us in our place... No Gord's ride is ever complete without our most favorite buddies: Karla, Michelle, Leanne, Carmen, Catherine, Jenn, Sarah (aka Crash), Bev, Kris, Candace, Christin, Chrissy, Nicole, Tripat, Lauri, Roxanne, Dawn, Kari (ah, the lovely Kari), Krista, Tressa, Sharon, Gail, Natalie, Patricia and more... Join us, meet some of these great people, enjoy.

For more on our adventures and events, visit our MTB Club page HERE.

It's part of gathering all the information we need in order to make the best possible recommendation to help you perform better and be much more comfortable. We're here to listen and help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. From what to wear when it's raining to how to lube your chain. More than Women's Specific: YOU specific... That's what we're all about.

Leanne, climbing better than ever

Just the good stuff

Wondering if you should take the leap to Full suspension? In one word: YES. As long as you're shopping at a decent specialty bike shop, (like, um, Gord's) chances are you're in for a treat. We're HUGE fans of full-suspension. We think it's all that... and more. Most of our staff use it, most of our regular club riders ride sqishy bikes. See, It's like this: Good full-suspension makes riding easier, smoother, more comfortable, bad full-suspension is like riding a 25 cent ride at the mall... except it costs a heck of a lot more that a quarter. Come and see us, we'll explain to you the benefits of full suspension -the good kind- we'll show you the differences and help make it simpler for you... and we'll let you test one out. Once you go there, you simply don't come back. Full Suspension: It's the new Brown, only better.

We at Gord's go to great lengths to make sure the bikes we sell surpass our strict standards of quality and value. We're serious about this one: No crap, crapless sans crap we like to say. If you walk into Gord's you can rest assured that the brands we've selected to sell to you are as committed to you as we are. We sell only bikes that excite us, that we believe will excite you. Great bikes that will make you want to ride more. Great bikes like Jamis: Great company, unbeatable bang-for-the-buck bikes that make the average rider better. Rocky Mountain Bikes: Canadian through and through, legendary craftsmanship, feel and stellar performance. Norco: Good value, great price points, nice bikes. Marin: interesting story, sweet well built bikes, with a unique look. Ellsworth Hand Crafted Bikes: Drool puddles everywhere.

JUST FOR THE GIRLS
Yep, you read right: For women by women. That's our goal with this page... No pesky guy interference. Like a pyjama party except with a crap-load more spandex and a bit less giggling. Check back soon,
we'll have here some neat articles from a definitely female perspective on snowboards, skis, bikes and much more. (this being bike season forgive us if we skew it in that direction for now). We have a whole team of girls checking out the latest, greatest stuff from the right shoes to the right camelback with a few detours into pedals, frame sizing, bike shorts, gloves and a whole lot more. Just check back in a bit, make sure you refresh your browser, we hope you like what you'll find.
BEST BUILT
BIKES, PERIOD.

When bikes arrive at our door from suppliers, they're unfortunately not assembled. We proudly employ highly qualified technicians to carefully assemble our bikes and pay them hourly. In fact, we're convinced our bike builds are the best in the city. Our experienced tech shop staff guarantee it. Our 27 point quality verified assembly process ensures that your bike will ride well and require less maintenance in the long run. It's pretty simple: Less down time equals more fun time.
LE PHOTO ALBUM
It all started with Matt Goyer (mattgoyer.com) a good friend and computer aficionado and JF taking pictures here and there... Enter uber-camera-guy Gavin... Matt started hosting out pictures on a server... Thousands and thousands of pictures were taken, an extensive record of all our great adventures. Unfortunately now password protected to shield the innocent. Wanna surf the album? simply join the Gord's MTB Club, get a free Username and Password and BAM! you're in.
